Please read the following carefully before booking an appointment.
HIV AND STI TESTING, TREATMENT AND COUNSELLING, GENDER AFFIRMING CARE, PREP CLINIC AND BOOKING & APPOINTMENT
This service is open to all.
General HIV and STI testing services currently take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 1pm-5pm. The cost is BBD$50, with payment being made in cash upon arrival or bank transfer upon booking ONLY. Bank transfer details can be found here
At various internals throughout the year, Equals offers Free HIV and STI testing on Tuesdays from 1-4:30pm in partnership with Ross University School of Medicine.
We welcome donations beyond the $50 standard fee and when accessing Free testing to help us with the operational costs of the clinic. Outside of the public health system, STI consultations + screenings osts range from BBD$80 and BBD$600, and your donations help keep our costs affordable.
Currently, our panel covers HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B&C, HTLV-1&2 and Syphilis.
During your appointment, you may also request a referral from our Doctor for additional STI tests at the Barbados Reference Lab which charges market rates for their services.
Equals also offers HIV and STI counselling and treatment should any of your results be positive.
GENERAL CLINIC:
This service is open to all.
Our General Clinic fee is BBD$50. Please note that this fee is for the consultation and checkup alone. Additional services such as Pap Smears and blood tests may carry an extra charge and while prescriptions may be written, you will need to visit a pharmacy to obtain your medication. Payment is made in cash upon arrival or bank transfer upon booking ONLY Bank details can be found here. Our General $50 Doctor’s Clinic takes place on Mondays and Thursdays from 1pm-5pm. On occasion, Equals offers a Free Clinic on Tuesdays from 1-4:30pm in partnership with the Ross University School of Medicine.

PrEP:
This service is open to all.
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) should be considered for all persons (regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity) who are sexually active, especially those who engage in unprotected penetrative sex, those who take drugs intravenously (with a needle), and sex workers.
PrEP is a course of anti-HIV drugs taken by HIV-negative people (i.e. don’t have HIV) to reduce their risk of HIV infection. The drugs in PrEP stop the HIV virus from replicating in your body. If you become exposed to HIV but have been taking PrEP correctly, you have up to a 96% chance of resistance to infection

PSYCHO-SOCIAL SUPPORT:
COUNSELLING
Equals offers both free and paid psychosocial counselling. The free counselling is offered in a collaboration with the Barbados Family Planning Association (BFPA) or our in-house counsellor and is strictly for LGBTQ+ persons who cannot afford to pay. Sessions can take place in-person at BFPA’s premises or virtually or at the Safe Space depending on the provider. Sessions with Equals’ in-house counsellor take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays (hours??). Contact us directly to arrange this service.
Equals also offers paid individual or couples counselling via our in-house counsellor. These sessions take place on Wednesdays and can be booked below. Paid counseling fees are BBD$120 for individuals and BBD$180 for couples. While booking please specify whether you will be attending individual or couples counselling in the Comments section. Please note that payment is done in cash only.
ART THERAPY
This service is open to all.
Additionally, small group Art Therapy sessions are offered at the Safe Space for just $BBD10 in partnership with Bloom Creative Healing. Please note that payment is done in cash only.

Gender Affirming Care
Equals currently provides gender affirming care for transgender, non-binary or other gender diverse persons who wish to access hormone treatment to aid them in their transition through referral to the Barbados Family Planning Association, or via our on-call Doctor.
